About Dr. Sandra Parker

Registered Psychologist Dr. Sandra Parker has been a passionate advocate for living an embodied, powerful and present life from her earliest days as a therapist and healer.  She has been working with individuals and groups in her private practice to resolve the many unhealthy manifestations of anxiety, including trauma, panic, perfectionism and chronic worry for over 20 years.  But it is her insight into the healthy expression of anxiety that is signal anxiety that is her revolutionary contribution to the self help field.

Her personal and professional commitment to utilizing this “biological telephone call” as a catalyst for growth has been transformational in the lives of hundreds of people.  Sandra’s signature warmth and humor, her ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concrete way, and her faith in our fundamentally self righting nature are inspirational.  “We are heliotropes: we grow toward the light” she says.  Her willingness to walk the walk of living vulnerably provides a model for being present that does not deny what is hard about being human, yet makes it seem both possible and worthwhile to develop our capacity to feel and deal.  Integrating an understanding of developmental psychology, neurobiology, mindfulness and the profound hunger for reaching our human potential, Sandra invites us to come home to the body, to have and to hold ourselves with compassion in the discomfort of being human, and grow.

Creator of the 10 week Breath Of Courage Program for anxiety and panic, Dr. Parker has facilitated numerous groups and garnered national and local radio and newspaper coverage for that work.  She has been consulted for TV interviews and magazine articles on anxiety and stress, has been published in academic journals, and has done training workshops for psychologists and counselors on effective treatment for panic and anxiety.

She lives by the ocean in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
